Member Exclusive Walk & Talk: Native Bees of Cabrillo National Monument with Local Expert, Patricia Simpson
Discover the native bees of Cabrillo during this Member Exclusive Walk & Talk led by Park Science Technician and local bee expert, Patricia Simpson.
There are approximately 3,600 species of native bees in North America, and more than 700 of them are found in San Diego County. With its dense coastal sage scrub and diverse native blooms, Cabrillo provides ideal habitat for many of these important pollinators, and an incredible place to learn about them.
Guests will explore the world of Cabrillo’s native bees up close through Patricia’s skilled netting demonstrations and gain a deeper understanding of the native habitats these species rely on for food and shelter.
This event will take place at Cabrillo National Monument. Day of details will be sent to all RSVPed guests prior to the event.
*National Park Service entrance requirements apply to all visitors. A current park pass or entry fee is required to enter the park for this event.
